COVID Home Learning

Dear parents,

In preparation for children that might need to isolate last minute, here is a page of relevant resources and activities linked to our learning in class this month. These are accessible immediately and can be completed if children have to isolate at home . If I know a family is isolating and children are not going to be in school then I will update the blog daily with work to complete linked to our learning in class for the time they are going to be off. As always, please let me know if you need anything specific or any support and guidance.

Thank you

Miss Stockmann 🙂

Morning Maths

For your morning Maths I would like you to work through a times table you are not confident with using the website below. There are 5 steps , each getting a little harder but all helping you to learn and remember your times tables.

Maths

For your Maths activities today I would like you to choose 3 activities from the Year 3 spring maths booklet. These activities are all based on areas of learning you have already been taught and you should be able to complete these quite independently. I have attached the full booklet and a few pictures of some of the activities inside. There are questions on multiplication, time, multiples, 3d shapes and much more.

Spelling

Below are the statutory spellings for Year 3 and 4. If you are working from home you could choose 5 spellings from this list each day to learn. We use a range of strategies in class to help us learn the spellings. We draw them, complete scribble spellings, put them into sentences, use dictionaries to find their meanings and write them in different rainbow colours.

English

Our English and Big Idea this month is linked to Wallace and Gromit’s cracking contraptions. In school we are designing, making and evaluating our own cracking contraption. I have attached a bumper pack of English based activities in the pdf document below. Have a look through and choose some activities that you might like to complete.

Reading

Children all have access to Reading Plus so please take some time to complete some of the activities from there today. You may also want to take this time to read some longer texts with the children where the story develops over time.
